Description

I really liked how this looked so I couldn't resist the chance to keep a copy of it before I started painting it. Just a splash of color really helps set the mood/atmosphere

What a gorgeous piece!~

VISION

Reflects the genre well and is very cute. nice design and pose here. your vision for the piece was executed very well. I love the way it draws you in

originality

you mixed the design well. It's a very cute and original character. The lighting and colors have been seen before, but intersting mood and character helps. This is a very original, cute character that just has a great look in the eyes.

Technique

Nicely done here. Smooth coloring, nice use of a palette. Good overall structure. yet, a few things hold it back. First, I'd love to see more of a consistant light source. It might be forced light from both directions, but it looks a touch dodgy because there is a lot of light coming from the left, but the right side also does, even if the background gets darker there. the right eye's highlight is a bit too strong, because there is no main light source visible beaming up that brightly. I wish the fur was a bit more visible, and had more strokes in it. Very smooth coloring though. The whiter/ clear fur is a bit clashy with the smooth fur, since you can see way more strokes and outlines in it. I suggest either texturing the brown fur more, or blending the white/ clear fur a bit more to remove the harsher outlines. But I love the hair direction and the accurate shadows. The detail in the lion is really good. I think the fur is really smooth looking and nicely done, but a little more texture would be really nice. (don't over do/ work it though!)

Impact

the expression of the character totally draws you in. This is really good and that's what you want in a piece like this. You nailed the expression in the eyes and the coloring is silky smooth and well polished. Lovely work here!~ <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>
